Job Title:       Detailers / Lot Personnel

Supervisor:    Detail Manager

 

Responsibilities:

§  Provide prompt, efficient cleaning of assigned vehicles in a timely manner

§  A display of commitment towards customer satisfaction

§  Safe precautions handling of all vehicles and maintain a clean safe work area

§  Maintain lot and appearances of such

§  Assist sales in plate transfers and gas for customer deliveries

§  Test batteries as per Jaguar Land Rover

§  Evaluation Standard

§  Assist in the taking and posting of pictures of the new and used car inventory

§  Maintain cleanings of lot and grounds including removing trash, snow

 

Qualifications:

§  Professional, clean appearance with use of company uniforms assigned

§  Valid Illinois license and good driving record

§  Organized and able to work independently

§  Dependable, punctual and capable of working with fellow employees

Used Car Sales Manager

Job Title:          Used Car/ Sales Manager

Reports to:        General Manager

 

Description:

The used vehicle manager is responsible for maintaining a well balance used vehicle inventory and selling each unit at a maximum gross with minimum expense. He/she will be responsible for appraising, reconditioning, displaying and merchandising the vehicles. He/she will set objectives for the department and accomplish them through planning, organizing, controlling, and measuring the performance of used vehicle sales people.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them
  • Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the used vehicle department
  • Attend manager meetings
  • Establish recommended unit sales and dollar gross profit objectives for the daily operating control
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect used vehicle sales
  • Ensure that Buyers guide stickers are affixed to the windows of every used vehicle
  • Hire, motivate, council and monitor the performance of all used vehicles sales employees
  • Conduct sales training meetings as directed
  • Establish a program which ensures that used vehicle salespeople are kept informed of all new inventory
  • Establish and enforce product knowledge standards
  • Direct and schedule the activities of sales employees
  • Oversee the efforts of used vehicle salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership
  • Communicate with used vehicle salespeople to ensure that policies and procedures are understood and followed
  • Guide salespeople in setting their objectives on a short and long term basis
  • Review all used vehicle salespeople's performance as shown on the daily sales operating control
  • Assist in developing programs of improvement for those salespeople who are failing to reach their objectives
  • Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards
  • Work with salespeople on programs that will increase the used car gross
  • Communicate daily with the new vehicle sales manager regarding trade ins
  • Monitor customer and market analysis to determine that customers want to buy
  • Maintain a used vehicle inventory that features a variety of colors, models and equipment
  • Attend auctions
  • Seek out good quality, low mileage units from sources available
  • Enforce a 75 day turn policy and establish standards for appraising
  • Appraise all incoming used vehicles
  • Establish procedures for reconditioning and that cosmetic and mechanical reconditioning is done within cost and time limitations
  • Develop, implement and monitor the use of a prospecting program
  • Plan and control the display of used vehicles
  • Help salespeople close deals
  • Establish and control wholesaling

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • One year of used vehicle sales experience
  • Broad knowledge of all types of vehicles
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Competent computer skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally in person and in writing, i.e. letters, e-mails
  • Valid Illinois driver's license
  • Professional personal appearance
  • Excellent communication and managerial skills and the desire and ability to be a true leader

 

Working Conditions:

  • Working indoors and outdoors, moving about the dealership lot and tower to communicate with salespeople and customers
  • He/she will spend time in the new vehicle department, service department and body shop
  • He/she will be required to attend the auction
  • Weekend, evening and occasional holidays will be required
